and around Box, and there can be little that is more relaxing than strolling
along the banks of the brook on a lazy summers day. Cycle Rides During the summer, a program of regular cycle rides run from the Quarrymans. Please call us for more details. Horse Rides Also during summer 2006, regular horse rides starting from the Quarrymans Arms and using local bridleways. Castle Combe The local racetrack is always a
popular place to go from March to October. In addition to the full weekends of
racing, the circuit also has its own race school, skidpan and Kart track. Their
website is at www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk Badminton Famous for its horse trials, the pretty town of Badminton is only a short drive away from the Quarrymans Bath City There is so much to do in Bath that whole websites are dedicated to that subject. However, from a personal point of view, favorites of this author are the open top bus tour and the world famous roman baths. Lacock This national trust village is about 6 miles from the Quarrymans, and provides a perfect day out. Located in the picturesque village is the Fox Talbot museum of photography and the famous abbey, which has recently been the setting for the Harry Potter movies. |
